On 6th of September 2013 the Eurasian Harm Reduction Network (EHRN) has submitted its Regional Funding Request (RFR) to the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (the Global Fund) in response to an invitation from the Global Fund Grant Management Division to participate as an early applicant under the New Funding Model. The focus of the Regional Programme outlined in the RFR is reducing the HIV epidemic in Eastern Europe and Central Asia (EECA) through improved advocacy for harm reduction. Strengthening of community systems for people who inject drugs (PWID), including those living with HIV, is a critical area of focus within this programme. More information about the goal, objectives and planned activities can be found in the Regional programme overview.
EHRN is happy to announce the Call for Applications for sub-recipients of the Regional Programme. The non-governmental organizations (NGO) from the following countries are invited to apply: Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Tajikistan. Five NGOs (one from 5 countries) will be selected as sub-recipients, thus determining the 5 target countries for the Regional programme.
RFR is not yet approved by the Global Fund. The selected organizations will act as sub-recipients within the Regional programme in case of the RFR approval by the Global Fund. The specific conditions will be negotiated with the selected organizations after and depending on approval from the Global Fund.
The deadline for applications is 15th October 2013.
