AIDS Action Europe brings together civil society to work towards a more effective response to the HIV epidemic in Europe and Central Asia.
Berlin, September 30, 2016
AIDS Action Europe is a pan-European network of HIV organizations with over 440 members. The Steering Committee of AAE identified affordability of medications as one of the key issues in the WHO Europe region. As part of our work on affordability, AAE is organizing trainings on pricing and affordability of medications.
The aim of the trainings is to build capacities of civil society organizations from the Baltic States for the advocacy on universal access to treatment and affordability and pricing of medications. The training will help civil society organizations to better understand how prices of medications are formed, what the legal barriers to affordable medications are and where civil society organizations can play a role in advocacy for reducing prices of medications and ensuring sustainable and affordable HIV and co-infections care and treatment services.
The training for the Baltic States (Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania) will be conducted in Riga, Latvia – November 24-25, 2016 in cooperation with our local partners: AGIHAS (Latvia).
The training is designed for activists who work in the advocacy field with special interest in pricing and affordability of medications. The language of training is English.
Are you a member of a non-governmental organization working in the field of HIV/AIDS and co-infections?
Do you work on or plan to have advocacy activities on affordability and pricing of medications?
Are you based in one of the Baltic States?
