Tuberculosis Foundation of Latvia is an independent, non-governmental organization (NGO) established in 2000 under the name of “Foundation to fight Tuberculosis in Latvia” with the aim to facilitate research and support training and education of Latvian professionals working in tuberculosis control, including tuberculosis and lung specialists, family doctors, epidemiologists, nurses, and social workers.
The Foundation has extensive experience in organizing various training courses, scientific conferences at national and international levels, as well as rendering technical assistance to countries in the region facing a high burden of MDR-TB/XDR-TB.
Since 2009, the Foundation acts under the legal name of “Tuberculosis Foundation of Latvia”.
