Требования властей США о выплате Китаем компенсации за распространение коронавируса в мире являются необоснованными, заявил представитель МИД КНР Гэн Шуан (Geng Shuang), сообщает издание Global Times.
Китайский дипломат отметил, что требования США о необходимости проведения расследования факта появления коронавируса в Китае, а также, возможно, выплаты Китаем компенсации, абсурдны.
«В 2009 году в США появился H1N1 (вирус гриппа, вызвавший пандемию), который распространился на 214 стран и регионов, в результате чего погибло почти 200 000 человек. Кто попросил США заплатить за это?», заметил Гэн Шуан.
Представитель китайского МИД также отметил, что СПИД появился именно в США и затем распространился по всему миру, но никто не стал требовать от США компенсаций. Он также упомянул и о финансовом кризисе 2008 года, который был запущен крахом американского банка Lehman Brothers.
По мнению дипломата из Китая, действия властей США являются попыткой перевести внимание от неудач на фронте борьбы с коронавирусом на внешнего врага в лице Китая.
Более того, дипломат заметил, что «большинство случаев коронавируса были импортированы в США из Европы, а не из Китая».

Some US officials also confirmed that a full-scale investigation has been launched to see whether the virus escaped from a lab in Wuhan, Fox News reported, citing several unnamed sources.
Trump came up with the idea of sending investigators to China after warning the country on Saturday that Beijing should face consequences if it was "knowingly re-sponsible" for the coronavirus pandemic, an apparent sign that the war of words is escalating between the two largest countries in the world.
"This is part of the US tactic to shift the blame to China, as the situation worsens in the US due to the lack of preparedness and due to the failed strategies to contain the spread," Zeng Guang, chief epidemiologist of Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, told the Global Times on Monday. ...>
