EUROPEAN AIDS TREATMENT GROUP: Call on the Government of Lithuania to ensure monitoring of HIV patients according to European standards

The prices Lithuanian HIV patients are asked to pay for routine laboratory testing amount 380 LT (108 EUR), which represents almost half of the minimum monthly salary2. The amount a patient has to pay for the tests can amount from 380 LT (108 EU) to 1520 LT (432 EUR) per year. In addition, patients who have coinfection of HIV with hepatitis C need additional monitoring, as progression of hepatitis C is more severe. However, the new Order of the Ministry makes such patients to pay for these additional tests as well.
